Asbestos Awareness Training Course

Who is the course for?

Regulation 10 of the CAR 2006 (Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006) places a duty to ensure asbestos awareness training is given to employees whose work could foreseeably expose them to asbestos. In particular, it should be given to demolition workers and those workers in the refurbishment, maintenance and allied trades where it is foreseeable that their work will disturb the fabric of the building because ACMs (Asbestos Containing Materials) may become exposed during their work.

Asbestos Awareness Training Course Content:

What is Asbestos? Where asbestos comes from; the types and uses.
The health effects of different asbestos materials.
Where it is found and how to identify it (typical uses).
Legislation and guidance.
Working safely with asbestos materials.
ASK - Asbestos Register, Show Awareness, Know you are Safe.

Course Duration:

Half day session.

Course presentation and notes, refreshments.

We use a mixture of methods so that the session is practical, informative and interactive.

The venue:

We are flexible with the choice of venue. We have a purpose built training room within our premises or we can provide this course on-site at your premises.
